FAQ

These are some of the frequently asked questions we receive at The Caterers Inc here in Las Vegas.

Q: What Regulations are followed regarding your rental equipment?

A: The Southern Nevada Health District has regulations in place for the use of rental equipment in the food service industry to ensure the safety of consumers.

According to the regulations, any rental equipment used for food service must be in good working condition and free from any defects that could potentially cause harm to the consumer. The equipment must be able to maintain the appropriate temperature, and it must be cleaned and sanitized prior to use.

If the rental equipment is a refrigeration unit, it must be able to maintain a temperature of 41°F (5°C) or below. If it is a freezer, it must be able to maintain a temperature of 0°F (-18°C) or below. Temperature gauges should be visible and easily accessible, and the temperature of the equipment should be checked regularly to ensure that it remains within the safe range.

Any equipment used for cooking or warming food must also be in good working condition and able to maintain the appropriate temperature. The equipment should be cleaned and sanitized prior to use, and any broken or damaged equipment should be repaired or replaced immediately.

If disposable items, such as utensils or linens, are included in the rental equipment package, they must be new and in their original packaging.

If the rental equipment includes any linens or other cloth items, they must be clean and free from any stains or odors. Any items that are not washable, such as tablecloths or napkins, must be disposable.

Any rental equipment used for party service, including tables, chairs, and other items, must be in good working condition and free from any defects that could potentially cause harm to the consumer. The equipment must also be cleaned and sanitized prior to use.

It is important to note that these regulations may be subject to change, and it is always best to check with the Southern Nevada Health District or other relevant authorities for the most up-to-date information on food safety regulations in Clark County.
